FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to get started on hormone replacement therapy?
You may come in for your first time consultation without any bloodwork, but to accelerate the process our administration team can provide a list of bloodwork that the doctors will need to get you started on your BHRT. We do not accept labs older than six months.
Longev Clinic offers on site blood testing, normally these results are ready in 4 hours.
For patients who need estrogen replacement therapy, the physicians at Logev Clinic will ask for a recent PAP smear and mammogram.
All patients receiving Testosterone will require routine PSA and Testosterone level monitoring.
Can I get everything done in one visit?
Longev Clinic offers on site blood testing, normally these results are ready in 4 hours and the doctor is able to prescribe or administer the hormones needed that very same day after the lab results come in.
Bloodwork needs to be taken fasting before 10 AM Monday to Friday for you to be able to get everything done on the same day.
What can I expect once I become a patient?
When starting with BHRT, you may require frequent adjustments of dosage that will be decided by the physicians at Longev Clinic.
Once stable on your dosage it is important to continue to monitor both symptoms and hormone levels.
Follow up is normally done one month after starting on your treatment. And follow up bloodwork is expected to be done every three to six months. The doctor will prescribe enough medication to last you for your follow up appointment.
Follow ups will be done by the doctor via email, WhatsApp or text message.
What makes Longev Clinic’s practitioners experts in BHRT?
Dr. Paola Rosales is an active member of the American Academy of Anti aging Medicine. She has specialized in bio identical hormone replacement therapy and has been replacing since 2016. She is an expert in HGH replacement therapy, andropause and menopause. She also specializes in sexual education and treats sexual dysfunctions related to hormone deficiency.
What is pellet therapy? Am I a candidate?
Pellet therapy are bio identical hormones pressed into a solid compound that is about the size of a cooked grain of rice. Using a painless office procedure, they are inserted under the skin in the hip area. The pellets release small amounts of hormone directly into the bloodstream.
Not everyone is a candidate for pellet therapy, prior consultation is required. All hormone replacement therapies are personalized to the patients’ needs.
How long does it take for BHRT to work?
When starting with BHRT, you may requiere frequent adjustments of dosage that will be decided by the physicians at Longev Clinic. The resolution of the symptoms depends on the type of treatment the patient needs, overall it takes seven to fourteen days for a patient to feel the effects of the hormones. There are rare cases where it can take up to 12 weeks to feel the effects. The doctors are Longev Clinic are constantly following up with their patients. The complete resolution of the symptoms depends on the time the symptoms have been around for.
What will my doctor ask me prior to hormone replacement therapy?
All hormone replacement therapy requieres bloodwork and an in person first time consultation.
For patients who need estrogen replacement therapy, the physicians at Logev Clinic will ask for a recent PAP smear and mammogram.
All patients receiving Testosterone will require routine PSA and Testosterone level monitoring.
Does Longev clinic offer telemedicine?
Longev Clinic does offer telemedicine but the first time consultation is required to be face to face. No exceptions.
How long do I need to be on BHRT?
Hormone replacement therapy is replacing what your body is not producing, therefore the replacement is recommended to be for a long period of time (permanently). Replacement of hormones is not the same as “the body producing the hormones”, with time hormone production decreases, this is why replacement is available. Remember that consistency is key to BHRT.
